| Growth protocol |
OBL progenitor cells were isolated from neonatal mouse calvaria bone, according to standard protocol. Cells were then allowed to differentiate to OBLs in an osteogenic medium (containing ascorbate and glycerol phosphate) for 21 days (at 37°C/5% CO2). Medium was refreshed 3 times/week.

Total RNA was isolated by PerfectPure RNA tissue kit (# 2302410, 5 PRIME, Germany) according to the manufacturer's instructions.

200ng TotalRNA were used for labeling. cDNA samples were generated and labeled using Affymetrix WT-cDNA synthesis and labeling kit

| Hybridization protocol |
2ug ss cDNA in 80 ul total volume were hybridized to a Mouse Gene 1.0 ST array using Affymetrix hybridization kit materials and hybridized for 17 hours at 45° at 60rpm. Post-hyb washes were done with Affymetrix wash solutions on the FS450 station using FS450_0007 protocol.
