Title Differential gene expression of gene during media induced aggregation
Organism [Candida] auris
Experiment type Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
Summary This study aimed to characterise the transcriptional response of two strains of Candida auris (UACa11 and UACa20) during media-induced aggregation due to differences in phenotype. RNA was isolated from each strain under both aggregating and non-aggregating culture conditions.

Overall design Non-aggregative strain UACa11 and aggregative strains UACa20 were grown under two different culture media. Sabouraud's Dextrose induced aggregation only in aggregative strains while RPMI-1640 saw all strains grow as a single-celled morphology. Non-aggregative strain was added to remove noise from the media change in data. After incubation for 16 hours in the indicated media. Cells were harvested and RNA purified to preform RNA-seq to examine differential gene expression. Three replicates from each condition were collected, totaling 12 samples.
