Title Geochip data of soil microbial community of biomes from three termperature zones

Summary Here, we applied a microarray-based metagenomics technology termed GeoChip 5.0 to examined functional gene structure of microbes in three biomes, including boreal, temperate and tropical area.
 
Overall design In this study, to investigate the influence of biome, age and vegetation on microbial functional genes in forest soils, we focused on three biomes in Lahti (represents boreal area), Baltimore (temperate area) and Singapore (tropical area). 40 sampling sites were set in each biome. At each site, approximately 0.10 kg of soils was collected from surface (top 50 cm) for microbial Geochip analyses
