Study: Bacterial isolation and single-cell sequencing of a bile sample from an acute cholecystitis patient
show Abstracthide Abstract
Acute cholecystitis (AC) is the acute inflammation of the gallbladder. AC is usually associated with cholelithiasis, with gallstones detected in >90% cases. Additional causes include circulation defect of the gallbladder wall, bacterial infection, and chemical disorder. Single-cell sequencing is a novel approach to genome sequencing of clinical samples from patients. A bile sample from a patient with acute cholecystitis was directly analyzed using the single-cell amplified genomes (SAGs). In this study, we isolated bacteria strains from a bile sample of an AC patient and analyzed whole genome sequencing of these strains. And then, we conducted the whole genome sequences of the single-cell bacteria obtained from the bile sample and compared the sequence data.
Sample: Single cell sequencing data, SAG1 from a bile sample
