SRX19670429: Illumina sequence reads for Staphylococcus phage: Southeast
1 ILLUMINA (NextSeq 2000) run: 1.4M spots, 396.5M bases, 136.2Mb downloads

Design: Sample libraries were prepared using the Illumina DNA Prep kit and IDT 10bp UDI indices, and sequenced on an Illumina NextSeq 2000, producing 2x151bp reads. Demultiplexing, quality control and adapter trimming was performed with bcl-convert (v3.9.3)

Study: Characterizing phages of staphylococci
show Abstracthide Abstract
The phages of staphylococci have profound impacts on staphylococcal evolution and pathogenesis and harbor potential for use in therapeutic applications. The overarching goal of this study is to discover and meticulously characterize diverse staphylococcal phages for use in basic research endeavors and therapeutic applications. This Bioproject focuses on characterizing a unique class of staphylococcal siphoviruses that appear to be strictly lytic and thus harbor high therapeutic potential.
