Summary of Use during Lactation
Chikungunya vaccine is a live, attenuated vaccine. No information is available on the clinical use of chikungunya vaccine during breastfeeding. However, in adults given the vaccine, viremia resolved in all participants by 15 days after the dose. If the mother requires chikungunya vaccine, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding.
