Swiss-Prot is a curated protein sequence database which is a part of the UniProt knowledgebase, UniProtKB. It provides a high level of annotation (such as the description of protein function, nomenclature and taxonomy, structure, domains, sequence, post-translational modifications, variants, publications, etc.) and integration with other databases.
