   Search Bar Help

The search bar on the NCBI Malaria Genetics & Genomics home page allows easy access to commonly used bioinformatics resources relevant to the malaria community. To search across multiple Entrez databases, use the Entrez Global Query and browse the NCBI Site Map.

MR4 - Search the Malaria Research and Reference Reagent Resource Center (MR4) Reagent Database. Do you want a specific malaria reagent for your research? Remember to register.

MR4 Search help MR4 database search uses exact matches!!! A search for "plasmo" would yield ONLY exact matches with "plasmo". NOTE: Partial words are entered with a trailing asterisk (*), e.g., plasmo* will find records matching all words starting with the string "plasmo" .

Gateway -The National Library of Medicine Gateway allows users to search in multiple retrieval systems at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). The current Gateway searches journal citations via MEDLINE/PubMed and OLDMEDLINE; books, serials, and audio/visuals via LOCATORplus; consumer health via MEDLINEplus and DIRLINEAIDS; Meeting Abstracts via Health Services Research Meetings, and more. See the Overview for details. Help documents.

NCBI Entrez search and retrieval system. General rules for searching Entrez.

PubMed - bibliographic data from MEDLINE and other literature databases. PubMed Help Documents
Protein - sequences derived from the GenBank databases.
Nucleotide - sequences derived from the GenBank databases.
Structure - 3-dimensional protein structures.
Genome - assemblies of complete genomes.
PopSet - data sets of population sequences.
Taxonomy - Taxonomy browser of all taxons in GenBank.
OMIM - Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man - catalog of human genes and genetic disorders.
Bookshelf - bookshelf of biomedical books.
ProbeSet - gene expression and microarray dataset
3D Domains - 3D Domain Database - Domains from Entrez Structure
UniSTS - Markers and Mapping data
SNP - Single Nucleotide Polymorphism
CDD - Conserved Domain Database
Journals - Journals in Entrez
UniGene - Gene oriented clusters of transcript sequences. UniGene is a system for automatically partitioning GenBank sequences into a non-redundant set of gene-oriented clusters. UniGene Help Documents
NCBI Web Site Search - Search the NCBI Website & FTP Site
PubMed Central - PMC is an archive of life science journals
MeSH - MeSH is NLM's controlled vocabulary used for indexing articles in PubMed. MeSH terminology provides a consistent way to retrieve information that may use different terminology for the same concepts. Use the MeSH database to find MeSH Terms and build a search strategy.

LocusLink -is a query interface to curated sequence and descriptive information about genetic loci, currently for fruitfly, human, mouse, rat, zebrafish, HIV-1. Other organisms will be added as they become available.

MapViewer -provides a specialized graphical browsing capabilities for a subset of the Entrez Genomes including P. falciparum (malaria), An. gambiae (mosquito) , and Homo sapiens (human) representing the organisms involved in the Malaria Disease Triad. MapViewer Help
