Structural and functional characterization of FabG4 from Mycolicibacterium smegmatis

Mycolicibacterium smegmatis FabG4 (MsFabG4), a high-molecular-weight β-ketoacyl acyl-carrier-protein reductase involved in fatty-acid synthesis, was characterized structurally and biochemically. Crystal structures of apo and NAD+-bound MsFabG4 were determined to 1.70 and 1.80 Å resolution, respectively.
